Laurene is a second-year Ph.D. student at USyd, focusing on the Australian Tick Microbiome Project. She initiated this project in collaboration with UNSW to characterise microorganisms in Australian ticks. Through this research, she hopes to provide clarity and remove the controversy surrounding tick-borne diseases in Australia, allowing patients to better access diagnostics and treatments. She is also an experienced Technical Assistant (USyd and Amgen), Science Communicator (UNSW Science Ambassador) and Teacher (highschool and undergraduate classes at UNSW and USyd).

His expertise spans econometrics, financial analysis, and artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on modeling and understanding the influence of news on commodity markets. His commitment to advancing research in these fields drives his interest in pursuing an internship, where he can apply and further develop these academic skills.

Huong is a dedicated Ph.D. student in Finance at RMIT University, focused on supply chain disruption and ESG performance. Huong boasts a decade of experience in both teaching and conducting research in Finance and related areas. Huong is highly enthusiastic about joining the internship program, which enables her to combine academic insights with practical industry projects. The program allows Huong to apply theory to real-world challenges, combining academic rigor with practicality, resonating with her desire to make a substantial impact.

His deep interest in an internship as a PhD student stems from a desire to apply his skills to defense-related projects, expand his knowledge, and make a meaningful impact in advancing scientific knowledge.
Juan Pelaez

Juan Pelaez

Juan is proficient in designing and conducting experiments alongside computational simulations, his expertise converges at the intersection of fluid mechanics and heat transfer. With a keen interest in these fields, he is passionate about having the chance to get an internship to work on real-world challenges. Juan also has an extensive experience using Matlab, Python, Solidworks and Ansys Fluent.

Josielli's research interests include cybersecurity, digital health, educational content development, health economics. She is also skilled in data analytics, Josielli would like the opportunity to apply for industry experience.
Allan Pimenta

Allan Pimenta

Allan's research and professional interests include transport planning, transport modelling, road design, urban planning and urban design. He has worked in several large scale projects, including the design of roads, public transportation systems, street landscaping and neighborhood planning. He has also experience in project management, business development and statistical analysis. Allan would like the opportunity to collaborate with organizations to foster social equity and sustainability in cities.

Deniz's research interests include polymer chemistry, surface chemistry for bio applications. She is also skilled in characterization of material chemistry with FTIR, TGA, DLS, UV/Vis spectroscopy, Confocal microscope, and cell culture studies as in vitro.
Vindya Nishadi Warnakulasooriyage

Vindya Nishadi Warnakulasooriyage

Vindya’s research interests include combinatorics and discrete mathematics, statistical theory, and computational logic and formal language. She is also skilled in Python. She holds a Master of Philosophy degree in Mathematics from the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka. Before starting her Ph.D. at RMIT university, she worked as a lecturer attached to the Department of Mathematics, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka for three years. Vindya would like the opportunity to apply her research commercially.
