Zitong’s research interests include computational mechanics in civil engineering. He is also skilled in BIM and structural design of building, bridge and other infrastructure. Zitong has experience using C++ and Matlab programming languages.

Application of Research to Industry

“I have knowledge in numerical modelling using FEM and meshfree methods like SPH, which contributes to structural design and analysis of building, bridge and infrastructure. Meshfree methods also show advantage on predicting structural response under blast or impact loads. I also have experience with C++ and Matlab programming language as strong problem solving tools. Recently, I have been working with machine learning using Graph Neural Network, and I think the cooperation between engineering and computer science will be a trend in engineering area with high potential.”

Key Skills

  • Strong ability in structural analysis software including: ANSYS, ABAQUS, LS-DYNA
  • Extensive experience in drafting and modelling software including: AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit
  • Good control in programming for engineering projects using C++, C# and MATLAB
  • Knowledge in machine learning including Graph Neural Network
