Matt’s research interests are centred around how the brain processes and stores information as memories, and how this is underpinned by neural activity.
He uses a raft of genetic and optical approaches in animal models to attempt to reveal the neural basis for memory. Matt also has a keen interest in science communication and outreach, working for the last few years in science community and school-based outreach programs alongside his PhD.
