Usman is a social sector specialist. He has worked on a number of research projects, with his PhD focused on the role of educational leadership in madrassa education in Pakistan, exploring the socio-political and religious dynamics that influence the Islamic school leadership in Pakistan and how the role of the teacher’s authority in traditional Islamic instruction and study techniques is changing.
