Douglas is an Applied Microeconomist with research interests spanning the fields of Development Economics, Economics of Education and Health Economics. His research entails using survey, spatial, and administrative data, as well as applied econometrics techniques, to explore various questions related to health, education expansion, gender equality and empowerment, and conflict. The focus of his current research is on the effects of early-life shocks and early childhood/adolescent investments on later-life outcomes, evaluating public programs and the long-term impact of conflicts on economic development.
