My research is based on tax compliance policies and investigation of certain psychosocial factors that influence tax compliance behaviours. My previous experience in the field of taxation and educational background in business administration gives me a unique skillset that includes understanding of a variety of subjects.

Application of Research to Industry

  • During my MBA, I developed a range of management skills and expertise applicable to organisations in any industry, including human resources and marketing, operational systems, and change and organisational behaviour management. Through analysis of case studies, I also acquired skills vital to enhancing company growth; risk management techniques; business and product planning; and how effective business decisions are made. All these important skills are paired with my experience as a researcher. These skills require intensive research and with my MBA background, I present a unique combination of industrial knowledge and research expertise. For instance, in preparation and planning of marketing surveys, my contribution as a researcher will be augmented by my marketing expertise.
  • My experience as a public servant has equipped me with several transferrable skills. For instance, ‘Negotiations’ may be an integral element of the research process. It is a valuable skill that may aid in accelerating timelines when recruiting respondents. As a public servant working for the tax authority, I developed the skills of persuasive communication and negotiations with taxpayers.
  • My previous research and current doctoral research both focus on Australia. I bring to table the experience gained outside Australia coupled with my knowledge about local businesses and research. It is undoubtedly an asset for any industry to cater to varied requirements in a constantly evolving business environment.
