This includes a monthly student stipend, an Academic Mentor fee and APR.Intern project management fees.

CUSTOM INTERNSHIPS

APR.Intern also facilitates internships for businesses with existing university partners.

If a business brings a university partner and student to APR.Intern, or if a university brings an Industry Partner and student to APR.Intern, these ‘custom’ internships will attract a $5,000 discount off the Industry Partner costs.

This lowers the industry cost of a 3-month project to $15,000.

SUBSIDIES

Businesses in the following sectors may be eligible for internship subsidies through our program partners:

  • Women in STEM
  • Defence
  • Space

These lower the cost of an internship by up to 60%.

Women in STEM

A new $7,500 Australian Government Women in STEM & Entrepreneurship (WiSE) Subsidy is now available to businesses that engage female postgraduate research interns studying within STEM research fields. This brings down the cost of a 3-month internship to $12,500.

Defence

Eligible Defence businesses in VIC, TAS and WA can access a $10,000-$15,000 subsidy through our partnerships with the Defence Science Institute (DSI) and the Defence Science Centre (DSC). This brings down the cost of a 3-month internship by up to 75 percent.

NSW Space Research Network

Australian businesses with a space related project can access a $12,000 subsidy through our partnership with the NSW Space Research Network when they appoint a PhD student from an NSW University. This brings down the cost of a 3-month full-time internship to $8,000.
