ABOUT THE INDUSTRY PARTNER
Heimdall Consulting Pty Ltd is a three plus year old small consulting business specialising in Civil Defence and Emergency Management (CDEM) and Cyber Security. Clients have included the Department of Defence, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in New Zealand and the Queensland Government.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?
Working directly with the CEO, a former two-star military officer, the student will be contributing to a civil defence and disaster management preparedness system that has interest across Australia and in New Zealand. Pending commercial take up that is expressed in a letter of intent, the student may be employed in the future in a software maintenance help desk role and future software design and development during a planned year-on-year system improvement program.
RESEARCH TO BE CONDUCTED
The Heimdall® CDEM Capability Assessment Survey Application (The App) is a web-based tool designed to help organisations conduct CDEM assessments in an easy, secure, and efficient way. The application supports various roles and tasks in the assessment process, ensuring that all users can work effectively. Its purpose is to simplify the creation, management, and completion of surveys while keeping data secure and compliant with privacy standards.
The main focus of the application is to offer features like role-specific functionalities, offline access for users in areas with poor internet, and secure options for uploading important documents. Additionally, the application includes a delegate question functionality, allowing users to assign specific questions to colleagues or external individuals.
In subsequent versions, the App will exploit the potential of artificial intelligence to provide enhanced analytical capability and to support use of the incorporated knowledge database (master question set) as an educational capability.
