FROM THE NATIONAL PROGRAM MANAGER

Dear Industry and University Partners,

I am very pleased to share that APR.Intern will continue to operate and facilitate postgraduate research student internships following the completion of our Federal Government grant period.

The industry rebate provided by the Government during this grant period is no longer available. However, we still have funding through existing and upcoming partnerships that provide some businesses with internship subsidies – covering up to 50% of costs. Full-cost, no-subsidy internships are also available to those that do not require financial support.

Student Eligibility & Processes

The program is now open to Masters by Research students, as well as PhD candidates – both domestic and international, with no cap on international participation.

The internship process for students and universities has not changed. All new internship EOI will continue to be advertised on our website and circulated via a weekly EDM. Students, supervisors and GRS’ are encouraged to subscribe and share this subscription link with cohorts.

Students will continue to receive a $3,000 monthly stipend for the duration of their internship.

Internship Duration

APR.Intern has recently been facilitating 3-month internships as an interim solution for industry, in accordance with Government deadlines. As we enter this new phase of the program, we are pleased to again be offering internships up to 6-months.

Sector Subsidies

Businesses in the following sectors may be eligible for subsidies through our funding partnerships, with more to be announced:

  • Defence: Up to $10,000 in funding support
  • Food & Agribusiness: Up to $5,000 in funding support
  • Manufacturing: Up to $7,500 in funding support
  • MedTech, BioTech & Pharma: Up to $10,000 funding support

For more information, please do not hesitate to contact your state’s dedicated APR.Intern Business Development Manager, or myself, directly.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

With best regards,

Lisa Farrar
