FROM THE NATIONAL PROGRAM MANAGER
Dear Industry and University Partners,
I am pleased to share news that APR.Intern will again be offering PhD student internships, effective immediately.
As you are aware, APR.Intern commenced a program pause and review period in April, following the March 31 deadline for internship contract execution under the successful National Research Internships Program (NRIP) grant. This review will continue, however, we are now able to facilitate full-cost internships as an interim solution.
These internships must be 3-months in duration and executed by August 15, 2021, to allow for completion by November 15, 2021.
Internship Costs
For industry, the full-cost of engaging a 3-month PhD student intern is $20,000, covering a $3,000 monthly stipend for the intern, $5,500 fee for the Academic Mentor and $5,500 project management fee. This cost structure does not impact the student or university; all internships will follow previous processes.
Sector Subsidies
Businesses in Defence, Food & Agribusiness, Manufacturing and MedTech sectors may be eligible for internship subsidies through our program partnerships. These lower the cost of an internship by up to 50%.
Student Applications
In the coming weeks, all new EOI will be advertised on our website and circulated via a weekly EDM. We encourage PhD students, academics and GRS teams to ensure they are subscribed to these alerts.
We have received many messages from program supporters since our pause in April and are delighted to be offering this interim solution for industry, universities and students.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
With best regards,
Lisa Farrar
