Synchronisation and dynamics on networks in command and control (Part 1)

Mentor: Prof Murray Bachelor, ANU
Intern: Matthew Zuparic, University of Melbourne
Industry Partner: Dr Alexander Kalloniatis, DSTO
Project Duration: August 2009 to January 2010

In the military domain, the Australian Defence Force has committed itself to achieving a networked force whose effectiveness will be enhanced by human and technological networks enabling self-synchronisation. The NCW Roadmap 2009 and Defence White Paper Defending Australia in the Asia-Pacific: Force 2030 outline the Australian Defence Force commitment to achieving this effectiveness.

This project sought to determine the communications, information-exchange and decision making chains of relationships between individual military forces and thereby contribute to the achievement of the above mentioned effectiveness.
