Application of Research to Industry
In Australia’s “post-colonizing” context, the potential for the building of solidarities among racialized groups emerges through the use of and alignment with “Latinx” by a number of 1st and 2nd generation Latin American migrants. Currently in Australia, in the field of cultural production, many Australian artists with Latin American background have begun to explore a new decolonial politics of solidarity and network building. Many Australian Aboriginal and Latinx artists have explored and created their own work in terms of enfleshed politics (Motta), invoking relations to land and place, including as women, LGBTI people, involved in acts of care and survivance. Here the aim is to explore the possibility of building greater horizontality and dialogue.
