APR.Intern is driving innovation and accelerating women in STEM through short-term 3 to 5 month PhD industry internships. A new Australian Government rebate is now available to all Australian businesses through the program.
Our PhD students stem from all disciplines and universities across Australia, providing businesses from all sectors in major cities, regional and rural areas, access to specialist PhD expertise. Every PhD internship is supported by an academic mentor from the university, who provides academic guidance to the intern and the project.
Through these internships, APR.Intern aims to support industry-based training of PhD research students, giving them the opportunity to apply their research skills in an industry setting.

Recent findings from the ACOLA Review of Research Training and the Commonwealth Government’s Review of Research Policy and Funding Arrangements, emphasise the critical role of such programs in accelerating the placements of skilled PhDs at the frontline of our most pressing industry challenges.
“The role played by intermediaries, such as APR.Intern (AMSI Intern), in matching research candidates with industry partners should not be underestimated.”
