All AMSI member universities receive unlimited free mathematical sciences internships*.
A number of non-mathematical sciences internships** are also offered based on the level of AMSI membership: full members receive three non-mathematical internships and associate members receive one free non-mathematical sciences internship.
When a university exceeds its allocation of free non-mathematical sciences internships, the model levies a $3,000 fee per internship to assist in covering program overheads.
All mathematical sciences internships* will be at no cost to the university.
For non-mathematical sciences internships with universities who are neither subscribed or AMSI members, the model levies a $3,000 fee per internship to assist in covering program overheads.
Internship classification of mathematical sciences/non-mathematical sciences determined by student Field of Research (FoR) code under the Australian and New Zealand Standard Research Classification (ANZSRC).
* Mathematical Sciences is comprised of all Fields of Research under FoR Division 49, as well as other FoR codes which are closely related to Data Science. The eligible 4 digit FoR Group codes for Data Science are 4605 Data Management and Data Science & 4611 Machine Learning.
** Non-Mathematical Sciences includes all other FoR codes.
