Central Queensland University (CQU) Expression of Interest

BACKGROUND

Central Queensland University (CQU) has partnered with APR.Intern to offer short-term research placements for CQU Masters by Research, PhD, and PhD Industry students.

APR.Intern is Australia’s only all-sector, all-discipline PhD and Masters by Research internship program, connecting postgraduate research students with industry partners ranging from start-ups and SMEs to government agencies and national corporations. See some of the businesses we work with here.

These internships provide:

  • A $3,300 per month stipend (paid as a scholarship)
  • Opportunities to apply your research expertise in real-world contexts
  • Development of professional and soft skills that increase employability

ELIGIBILITY

To submit an Expression of Interest, you must:

  • Be enrolled as a CQU Masters by Research, PhD, PhD Industry, Doctorate or Education candidate.
  • For any questions regarding your eligibility, please contact: Amy-Louise Byrne – a.byrne@cqu.edu.au

HOW IT WORKS

  • Submitting an EOI allows APR.Intern to contact you if a suitable placement becomes available and share your APR.Intern CV with industry partners.
  • Completion of an EOI does not guarantee a placement, however it enables you to join our database. We encourage you to also apply directly for available internships listed on our website and to do some of your own networking to identify industry partners who are aligned with your research expertise.
  • Places are limited, early registrations are encouraged.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Please note that if a suitable internship is found, your expression of interest will be subject to Central Queensland University approval.

The internship commitment is a minimum of 60 full days of engagement. This can be completed as three months full time or part time equivalent as negotiated between the student and industry partner.

It is expected that the intern will primarily undertake this research project during regular business hours and maintain contact with their academic mentor throughout the internship either through face-to-face or phone meetings as appropriate.

The intern and their academic mentor will have the opportunity to negotiate the project’s scope, milestones and timeline during the project planning stage.
