Rebecca Hermon was headed for a career in the healthcare sector. After all, her PhD thesis was on improving electronic healthcare management systems in hospitals.
Then fate intervened. She’s now thinking her future might be in defence R&D.
The dramatic about-turn came after Ms Hermon successfully applied for a paid internship under a federal government-funded program called APR.Intern. That took her to the Defence Science and Technology group.
