APR.Intern has had a strong start to 2025, with 34 internships signed to date and five additional contracts pending signature. Our business development pipeline is also performing well with 38 projects currently in progress.
We’ve maintained our national reach, with 14 of the 34 signed internships coming from different universities. CSL alone commenced three internships in April and signed off on another in May. Telstra signed two internships in the second quarter, with several more in the pipeline.
All eight internships with Dolby are now underway, and our exciting partnership with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena is progressing, with visa clearances now complete. Yani Lach from the Australian National University (ANU) will begin this remarkable opportunity on 14 July – funded by the NSW Space Research Network.
Alongside large industry partners, APR.Intern continues to support Australia’s SME and start-up sector. We’ve recently placed interns with companies including Braineye, Evernode Labs, Ausdiagnostics, and Inner Studio.
These types of organisations, often regarded as the engine of growth and innovation in Australia, are frequently engaging PhD interns for the first time.
A standout is Evernode Labs, a Canberra-based software development company that emerged from an ANU research initiative. Demonstrating APR’s strong national footprint, Evernode has engaged a student from Charles Sturt University (CSU), our second CSU intern this year.
APR continues to collaborate with the University of Wollongong’s LIFT programand has five projects currently in development and another nine opportunities to sign before the LIFT program wraps up in October. In other partnership news, APR has completed four internships with the Victorian Defence Science Instituteso far this year, and one with the Defence Science Centre in WA. We have also signed our first internship with the ARC Training Centre for Medical Implant Technologies.
With a robust pipeline and strong partnership engagement,
APR.Intern is well-positioned for a busy and impactful second half of 2025.
