RESEARCH TO BE CONDUCTED

  1. Aircraft Control Systems and Avionics
    Development and Integration: Research and develop advanced control systems and avionics for the eVTOL UAS, ensuring seamless integration with the aircraft’s overall architecture.
    Optimization: Study and optimize control algorithms for improved performance, stability, and safety of the UAS.
    Redundancy and Fail-Safe Mechanisms: Investigate and implement redundant systems and fail-safe mechanisms to enhance reliability.
  2. Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Simulations
    Simulation Setup: Design and set up hardware-in-the-loop simulation environments to test control systems and avionics in real-time.
    Testing and Validation: Conduct extensive HIL simulations to validate system performance under various operational scenarios and conditions.
    System Behavior Analysis: Analyze system behavior and responses in the simulation environment to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.
  3. Ground and Flight Testing
    Test Planning and Execution: Develop detailed test plans for ground and flight testing phases, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all critical system aspects.
    Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data from ground and flight tests to evaluate system performance, identify anomalies, and verify compliance with design specifications.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The intern will receive $3,000 per month of the internship, usually in the form of scholarship payments.

It is expected that the intern will primarily undertake this research project during regular business hours and maintain contact with their academic mentor throughout the internship either through face-to-face or phone meetings as appropriate.

The intern and their academic mentor will have the opportunity to negotiate the project’s scope, milestones and timeline during the project planning stage.
