APR.Intern has partnered with the Defence Innovation Network (DIN) NSW to provide local Defence businesses with a cost effective solution to tackle R&D.

Under the agreement, DIN will provide 30 NSW-based Defence businesses with a $10,000 APR.Intern subsidy to help fill skills gaps and accelerate innovation. The businesses will be matched with Science, Engineering, Technology and Mathematics (STEM) PhD students from some of Australia’s leading universities.

Full project cost includes a $3,000 per month student scholarship, a one-off $5,500 academic mentor fee and a one-off $5,500 project management fee.

INDUSTRY ELIGIBILITY

Proposal must have Defence relevance

Business and Intern must be NSW-based

One DIN Intern Voucher per business per year

Business must be a DIN participant OR an SME

Project must be for R&D relevant to DIN’s technology themes or to enhance Defence industry outcomes

STUDENT ELIGIBILITY

Please note: Due to the sensitivity and security of DIN projects, students must have Australian Citizenship to apply. Students also need to be enrolled in one of the following universities; Macquarie University, The University of Newcastle, The University of New South Wales, The University of Sydney, University of Technology Sydney, University of Wollongong or Western Sydney University. Any applicants not meeting this requirement will automatically be deemed ineligible for the applied project.
